Network Rules
Last updated: July 20th, 2010
- Connections
- A single user may not have more than THREE connections to this network, at any one time. This rule applies even if the clients are from different hostmasks.
- A session limit exception can be made for certain establishments, such as universities, public/private schools, public libraries, etc. These exceptions will be set by NFNet staff once the exception has been evaluated to be needed.
- Conduct Rules
- Show respect to all users/IRCops connected to the network.
- Do not abuse network services.
- Harassment, as determined by administrators, of users and/or IRC operators is not permitted.
- The following activities may be considered harassment:
- Excessive cursing/swearing.
- Messaging of unwarranted indecent content to users and/or channels.
- Excessive flooding of channel and/or user (via Personal Message), no matter the content.
- Excessive saying of a user's Nick in one or more channels (combined amounts).
- Impersonation of another user (similar nick or even same nick).
- Advisable Conduct
- Keep profane language and offensive content to a minimum.
- Listen to ChanOps on considerations of proper conduct (it's their channel, thus their discretion).
- Conduct yourself in a respectable, kind, and generous manner.
- Bots
- No harmful scripts or bots are permitted. This includes any and all botnets.
- All bots must be allowed by the owner/ChanOps of a channel, otherwise the bot is considered uninvited and could be banned.
